Adani Power’s Jharkhand power plant starts power supply to Bangladesh

Ranchi. Adani Power, an Adani group company, has started supplying power to Bangladesh from its 1,600 MW power station at Godda in Jharkhand. The company said in a statement on Tuesday that Adani Power Jharkhand Limited (APJL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Power Limited, has started commercial operation of its second unit (two units of 800 MW each). The commercial operation trial of the second unit of this plant took place on 25 June. Officials of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and Power Grid Corporation of Bangladesh (PGCB) were present on the occasion.

The company said supplying power to Bangladesh from the Godda plant would improve the energy security of the neighboring country. “Adani Power Jharkhand will supply 1,496 MW of power from its power station to the Bangladesh Power Development Board,” the statement said. The agreement regarding this was done on November 2017 for 25 years.
