Adani Total Gas, Adani Transmission will be out of MSCI India index, shares fall

Shares of Adani Total Gas fell five per cent to Rs 812.60 on the BSE. Shares of Adani Transmission also declined by five per cent to Rs 871.15.
New Delhi. Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) has said that Adani Total Gas and Adani Transmission will be excluded from the MSCI India Index with effect from May 31. After this, the shares of both the companies declined in the morning trading on Friday. Shares of Adani Total Gas fell five per cent to Rs 812.60 on the BSE. Shares of Adani Transmission also declined by five per cent to Rs 871.15. MSCI said it has decided to remove three companies from the index and add three new ones. These changes will come into effect from 31 May 2023.
Indus Towers will also be delisted from the MSCI India index. Shares of Indus Towers fell 2.34 per cent to Rs 147.90 on the BSE. The names of companies that will be included in the index are Hindustan Aeronautics, Max Healthcare Institute and Sona BLW Precision. Equity investors around the world widely use MSCI Global Standard indices to make investment decisions.
