New Delhi, April 9 (HS). The domestic stock market became a victim of profit-booking after reaching record high today. Today, selling started in the market after the first hour of trading, due to which the stock market lost all its gains and fell into the red. However, buyers also tried to support the market by buying intermittently. Despite this, the selling pressure was so high that the stock market could not recover. After the entire day’s trading, Sensex closed with a weakness of 0.08 percent and Nifty closed with a weakness of 0.10 percent.

Today, there was buying in shares of realty, metal and banking sectors during the day’s trading. Infrastructure, FMCG, Public Sector Enterprise, Energy and Automobile indices closed with losses. There was continuous pressure in the broader market today, due to which the BSE midcap index closed with a decline of 0.47 percent. Similarly, the Smallcap index ended today’s trading with a weakness of 0.15 percent.

Today, due to the weakness of the market, the wealth of stock market investors decreased by more than Rs 80 thousand crores. The market capitalization of BSE listed companies declined to Rs 399.98 lakh crore (provisional) after today’s trading. Their market capitalization on the last trading day i.e. Monday was Rs 400.86 lakh crore. In this way, investors suffered a loss of about Rs 88 thousand crore from today’s trading.

Today, there was active trading in 3,951 shares in BSE during the day’s trading. Of these, 1,614 shares closed with gains while 2,232 shares were in decline and 105 shares closed without any movement. There was active trading in 2,195 shares in NSE today. Of these, 874 shares closed in the green mark after earning profit and 1,321 shares closed in the red mark after incurring losses. Similarly, out of 30 shares included in Sensex, 12 shares closed with gains and 18 shares closed with decline. Out of the stocks included in Nifty, 18 stocks closed in the green mark and 32 stocks closed in the red mark.

BSE Sensex today opened at 75,124.28 points, jumping 381.78 points, creating a new record of all-time high. As soon as the trading started, due to profit booking, this index slipped by more than 300 points from the opening level to 74,792.77 points. After this, buyers took charge, due to which the movement of this index increased. However, this momentum could not be sustained for long. Shortly before 11 pm, the bears took over the market, due to which the index dived into the red. Due to continuous selling, by 2 pm this index fell by more than 500 points from the upper level and reached the level of 74,603.37 points with a weakness of 139.13 points. However, after this, due to buying support, there was a slight improvement in the position of this index. After the entire day’s trading, the Sensex closed at 74,683.70 points with a fall of 58.80 points.

Like Sensex, NSE’s Nifty today created a new record of strength and started trading at 22,765.10 points with a gain of 98.80 points. As soon as the market opened, this index gained 102.10 points and reached its highest level of 22,768.40 points. After this, due to selling started in the market due to profit booking, the movement of this index also declined. Due to continuous selling, this index slipped more than 150 points from the upper level and reached 22,612.25 points, falling by 54.05 points. However, due to minor buying in the last 1 hour of trading, Nifty recovered about 30 points from the lower level and closed at 22,642.75 points with a weakness of 23.55 points.

After the entire day’s trading, among the stock market’s leading stocks, Apollo Hospitals with gains of 3.13 percent, Hindalco Industries by 2.05 percent, ICICI Bank by 1.83 percent, Bajaj Finserv by 1.26 percent and Infosys by 1.23 percent joined the list of today’s top 5 gainers. . Titan Company joined the list of today’s top 5 losers with a weakness of 1.86 percent, Coal India by 1.69 percent, Hero MotoCorp by 1.60 percent, Reliance Industries by 1.50 percent and Asian Paints by 1.21 percent.
