Passengers at Sardar Patel International Airport (SVPIA), Ahmedabad are experiencing world-class seamless and paperless travel with DigiYatra. Digi Yatra is proving to be very helpful in speeding up the movement of passengers. Passengers can navigate through facial recognition using advanced artificial intelligence technology. In the first week itself, more than 4000 passengers have used DigiYatra and the number is only increasing.
Passengers using Digi Yatra need not take a printout of the ticket or boarding pass at the airport. The new biometric boarding system implemented at SVPIA has simplified the check-in, security and boarding procedures.
SVPI Airport has started testing this technology from Terminal 1 on 3rd May 2023. After the successful trial, passengers traveling by Akasaa and Indigo airlines are using the DG Yatra facility. This facility will be operational in all airlines by September.
Passengers can register at the airport through the DigiYatra portal or by downloading the DigiYatra mobile app available on both iOS and Android platforms. Upon registration, passengers will receive a unique DigiTravelID for all future air travel in India. The unique Digi Yatra ID generated is linked to the PNR number of the passenger and stored on the Digi Yatra portal.
The Digi Yatra platform offers multiple benefits such as check-in, pre-boarding security checkpoints and entry through boarding gates by scanning the passenger’s facial biometrics. The biometric system can also validate e-tickets and boarding passes.
The Digi Yatra app on Google Play and iOS Store provides real-time updates on flight delays or airport congestion. Travelers can also easily book flight services and destination-based offers through the app.
SVPIA is dedicated to provide seamless and digitized experience to passengers by following the guidelines of Ministry of Civil Aviation and Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
