New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India is aiming to sell more premium vehicles from Hyundai and Tata Motors combined by next year through its Nexa retail outlets. The company’s senior executive officer (marketing and sales) Shashank Srivastava said this. The retail chain of Nexa was started in 2015 to sell high-end vehicles of Maruti Suzuki. Now its total sales have crossed 2 million units. At present, vehicles like Baleno, Ignis, Ciaz, XL6 and Grand Vitara are sold under this. Upcoming SUVs Franks and Jimny will also be offered under this series.
The company expects its passenger vehicle sales to grow by five to 7.5 percent in 2023-24. Srivastava said, “We have crossed the 2 million unit mark in Nexa. The first million vehicles were sold in four years and the next million in three years. “With Nexa being the fourth largest brand in the industry, we expect it to become the second largest brand in the auto industry by next year,” Srivastava said. He expressed hope that 3.7 lakh units of Nexa could be sold in the current financial year, while last year’s sales figure is 2.55 lakh units.
