What is the whole matter?
In Air India’s flight, the pilot made special arrangements in the cockpit for his female friend keeping the rules on the shelf. Cabin crew members complained about this. In his complaint, he told that the female friend of the pilot was in economy class. They wanted him to get a business class seat. If this did not happen, he brought them to the cockpit. He was seated on the first observer seat in the cockpit. Ordered drinks for his girlfriend, but was left fuming when the cabin crew refused to serve alcohol in the cockpit. During the flight, he kept doing things for his female friend. Now DGCA has ordered an inquiry in this matter. The plane in which all this was happening had 176 passengers on board. The pilot put the lives of these people in danger by his action.
What is cockpit?
The cockpit is a very sensitive cabin in an aircraft. It is from here that the flight is operated, sitting here the pilot and the co-pilot fly the plane. It is like a complete control room. There is a special rule for coming and going here. Not everyone can come and go here. Some airlines have prohibited even drinking tea and coffee in the cockpit while flying. While some airlines have given exemption in this. Airlines follow the 8R rule in the cockpit, in which pilots are not allowed to consume alcohol for 8 hours while flying. Both the pilots sitting in the cockpit are not allowed to eat the same type of food. They are not allowed to operate mobile or any gadget while flying the aircraft.
Who can come to the cockpit, what is the punishment?
Only the operating crew is allowed into the cockpit. Means pilot and air hostess or steward can come in the cockpit. Apart from this, if anyone wants to go to the cockpit, he has to take written permission from DGCA before flying. If any person enters the cockpit without permission, action can be taken against him. Common passengers cannot go here, because the cockpit remains locked while flying. It opens with the lock code. There is a protocol for coming and going here, which is mandatory to follow. To get into the cockpit, the pilot and crew members also have to take the BA test i.e. breath test. After investigation, the accused pilot can be sentenced. His license may even be suspended.
