Mumbai/San Francisco. Another flight carrying passengers stranded in Russia’s Magadan reached San Francisco on Thursday due to a technical glitch in the Air India plane. An Air India flight from Delhi to San Francisco had to make an emergency landing in the remote Russian city of Magadan on Tuesday due to a technical snag in the engine. “All our passengers are being provided necessary assistance, including completion of evacuation formalities,” Air India said in a statement.
Air India had sent a ‘ferry’ aircraft to take the 216 passengers and 16 crew members on board to their original destination of San Francisco. Air India said in a statement, “Flight AEI-173D arrived safely at San Francisco on June 8, 2023 at 12:07 AM (local time).” We thank the authorities, our staff and partners for their efforts to get our passengers to San Francisco as quickly as possible and for taking care of them during their stay in Magadan (Russia).
