Air pollution is continuously increasing in Delhi, sales of air purifiers increased due to poor air quality.

These days, the air quality in India’s capital Delhi and its surrounding areas is in very poor condition. Delhi’s air quality index was recorded at 416 at 7 am on Saturday morning, which had reached 460 on Friday. Even at the level of 416, the air quality remains in the severe category. Similar is the situation in the NCR area around Delhi.

In view of the poor air quality, there is an increase in the sales of air purifiers. These days, due to increase in air pollution, the sales of air purifiers have increased. In view of the continuous bad air pollution in Delhi and NCR, now customers are making a lot of inquiries from shopkeepers regarding air purifiers. Company manufacturers say that they are getting inquiries from New Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) as well as Mumbai and some eastern parts of the country.

It is noteworthy that the level of air quality in these areas has gone down considerably. Companies like Philips, Kent RO, Xiaomi, Daikin and Havells are expecting further increase in demand in the coming days. Air purifiers are a relatively new, small and niche segment in the home appliances sector, the demand for which increases after Diwali. Kent RO Systems Ltd Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Mahesh Gupta told PTI that demand has increased by 15-20 per cent in the last 4-5 days.

Hopefully people will buy these devices to deal with polluted air. A Xiaomi spokesperson said sales of air purifiers have increased tenfold this week. Daikin India CMD KJ Java said the air quality in Delhi-NCR has crossed the severe category, making it unsafe for humans.
