A 50 kg bag of conventional DAP (Di-ammonium phosphate) is currently being sold to farmers for Rs 1,350. One bottle (500 ml) of the world’s first nano liquid DAP will have the same capacity as one bag (50 kg) of conventional DAP.
Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday launched IFFCO’s Nano (liquid) DAP fertilizer for commercial sale. Its 500 ml bottle will cost Rs 600. This price is less than half of the current price of traditional DApps. This step will help India to reduce its import dependence. A 50 kg bag of conventional DAP (Di-ammonium phosphate) is currently being sold to farmers for Rs 1,350. One bottle (500 ml) of the world’s first nano liquid DAP will have the same capacity as one bag (50 kg) of conventional DAP.
On the occasion, Shah urged the farmers to use Nano (liquid) DAP fertilizer as it would increase agricultural productivity without affecting the health of the soil. He said that the use of nano-liquid DAP will help India become self-sufficient in fertilizer production. The government subsidizes traditional DApps, but will not provide any subsidy to Nano DApps.
