Ankur Kumar appointed CEO of Essar Power’s renewable division

Mumbai (Uttam Hindu News): Private sector independent power producer Essar Power Ltd on Thursday announced the appointment of Ankur Kumar as the Chief Executive Officer of its renewable business division. Kumar will play a key role in driving Essar’s commitment to transition to green energy and establish a strong renewable ecosystem in India.
With over 24 years of experience in the renewable energy and public infrastructure sectors, Kumar brings expertise to his new role. Prior to this he was working as the Chief Executive Officer at ACME Solar Holdings Pvt. Ltd. Kumar led the company’s strategic expansion in its green hydrogen and ammonia business, while also expanding its geographic footprint.
In his new role, Kumar will collaborate closely with the Essar Power board and leadership teams. He will work towards building a strong portfolio in renewable energy and taking forward Essar Power’s green energy initiatives.
Commenting on the appointment, Prashant Ruia, Director, Essar Capital, said, “Essar is aggressively pursuing its vision of greening the sector. With Ankur Kumar joining us, we look forward to taking our plans forward in the renewable sector. His experience and leadership will help lead Essar Power towards a more sustainable future.”

Kumar’s leadership tenure at TBEA Xinjiang Sunosys Co., Ltd. highlights his efficiency in achieving business objectives, fostering high-performing teams and completing projects within budget and timelines.
Kumar is an alumnus of IIM Indore, where he earned an MBA in Finance and Strategy. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree from Delhi University.
