Anurag Kashyap said on the criticism of Animal, dont tell the filmmaker what kind of film to make

The audience is liking the film very much, but many people are criticizing Ranbir’s character and his scenes. The film is directed by Sandeep Vanga Reddy, known for ‘Kabir Singh’ and ‘Arjun Reddy’. In both those films also the hero was shown assaulting and raising his hand on the girl. In such a situation, people are criticizing Sandeep Vanga for displaying masculinity in films.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has given a statement on this. In News 18 Shosha, Anurag Kashyap talked about the content of the film. He said, “I have not seen ‘Animal’ yet, I have just returned from Marrakesh. But I know what is happening online. No one has the right to tell the filmmakers what films to make and what not to make. People in this country get angry quickly with films. They also get angry with my films. But I hope that educated people will not get angry over such a small thing.”

Even during Sandeep Vanga’s film ‘Kabir Singh’, people had expressed their displeasure. Talking about that also, Anurag said, “All these things were happening during the time of ‘Kabir Singh’ also. Filmmakers have the right to make any film they want and show what they want. We can criticize, debate and disagree with them. Movies either provoke you or open your eyes. I have no problem with filmmakers making such provocative films.”

Anurag Kashyap said that one should not react so much to the things seen in films. Movies are not responsible for anything. He said, “There are all kinds of characters and people in this society, 80% of the men of India are like Kabir Singh.

Regarding Kabir Singh, Anurag said that in that film, complete attention was given to Kabir’s character. Other characters were not shown much. According to the filmmaker, there should be healthy discussion on these issues, it is not right to cancel each other.
