A business meet of industrialists and businessmen as part of ‘Explore Africa’ program under SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84 organized by South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Saturday with Counselor Muniru Kadiri of Ghana Embassy at Samhati Building, Sarsana, Surat. Was done.
Ghanaian Councilor Muniru Kadiri said, there is huge investment potential in the textile industry in Ghana. Ghanaian citizens also required handmade clothes and due to the import of Indian clothes in large quantities, he took advantage of this opportunity to invite textile industrialists and businessmen from Surat to set up factories and units in Ghana. He said land is also cheap in Ghana and the Government of Ghana has launched the One District One Factory programme. The government also provides subsidies under this program.
Ghana produces large quantities of cosmetics, food processing, soybeans and cocoa. Agricultural chemicals are also imported. So that the industrialists and exporters of Surat can also export agrochemicals to Ghana. Apart from this, monoculture products including fish are also in high demand in Ghana, hence there is a huge opportunity for export of monoculture products from Surat to Ghana.
The Ghanaian counselor said that India is like a big brother to the country of Ghana in West Africa. Bilateral trade relations between India and Ghana are very good and efforts are being made by both countries to develop it further. He also gave detailed information about the tax exemptions and incentives given by the Government of Ghana to the industrialists and businessmen of Surat.
Nikhil Madrasi, Honorary Minister of the Chamber of Commerce, delivered the welcome address. The entire meeting was moderated by Paresh Bhatt, CEO of Mission 84. Exporter and international trade consultant and trainer Amit Mulani gave a presentation on export opportunities in Ghana. At the meeting the Ghanaian Councilor satisfactorily answered various questions from businessmen and traders regarding investment and trade in Ghana. Chamber’s core committee member Komal Shah concluded the meeting with a vote of thanks to everyone.
