Apple releases all free software updates, new iCloud plans – Dainik Savera Times

San Francisco: Apple has released all its latest free software updates for iPhone, iPad, Watch and Apple TV users along with the new iCloud Plus plan. iOS 17 makes iPhone even more personal and intuitive with major updates to the communications apps standby. A new way to experience iPhone while it’s charging, easier sharing with AirDrop, and more intelligent input that improves typing speed and accuracy.

The Phone app is essential to the iPhone experience, and it gets a big update that makes important calls even more important. Users are now able to leave a video or audio message on FaceTime to have their say when the caller is not available.

Apple said, ‘AirDrop makes it easier than ever to share with friends, family and colleagues. A new AirDrop feature, NameDrop, allows users to exchange contacts, including their contact posters, by bringing their iPhone devices together. iOS 17 is a free software update available for iPhone XS and later. For iPad users, iPadOS 17 brings new levels of personalization and versatility to iPad and is available today as a free software update.

Users can now customize the lock screen with stunning wallpapers, new ways to display your favorite photos, and expressive fonts and colors to personalize the look of the date and time. Apple said that ‘Interactive widgets bring more information to the table with the ability to quickly complete tasks with a single tap directly from the lock screen or home screen.’ iPadOS 17 iPad (6th generation and later), iPad mini (5th generation and later), iPad Air (3rd generation and later), 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2nd generation and later), 10.5-inch iPad Pro and Available for 11-inch iPad Pro (1st generation and later).

Apple has also released watchOS 10 which offers a new Smart Stack and delightful new watch faces to show relevant widgets when needed. According to the company, Bluetooth connectivity for power meters, and speed sensors come to cyclists, unlocking new metrics and workout views. The Cycling Workout will automatically appear as a Live Activity on the iPhone and take up the full screen.

Additionally, new Compass Waypoint and Map capabilities can further help during outdoor adventures. The Mindfulness app offers new tools to support mental health with state of mind logging, and also introduces the ability to measure time spent in daylight using the Apple Watch ambient light sensor. watchOS 10 is available for Apple Watch Series 4 and later, and requires iOS 17 for the iPhone XS or later.

Later this year, new tvOS apps from Webex by Cisco and Zoom will take advantage of the Continuity Camera and expand to Apple TV 4,000. Apple users will now have the option to choose from two additional iCloud Plus plans, 6 terabyte at Rs 2,999 per month and 12 terabyte at Rs 5,900 per month. With iCloud Plus, users can keep a large library of original, high-resolution photos and videos safe in iCloud and keep access across all their devices and the web.
