Mumbai Commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland on Friday inaugurated a women-centric ‘cabin trim line’ at its Pantnagar manufacturing facility in Uttarakhand. According to a statement issued by the company, the new ‘cabin trim line’ will meet the increasing demand. It will serve as a production line where the cabin of the painted vehicle will be carefully put together with critical components such as the steering system, windshield, windows, electronic components, headlights and driver’s seat.
Shenu Agarwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ashok Leyland, said, “We believe in the importance of creating a more diverse workforce. The new women-centric line at our Pantnagar plant reinforces our belief in creating a more inclusive ecosystem at Ashok Leyland.” He said this initiative will create opportunities for a more diverse workforce and promote an environment of equality.
