Ashok Leyland will train 100 women drivers in Delhi

Chennai / Delhi (Best Hindu News): Hinduja group commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland has invited 100 women for commercial vehicle driving training at its Driver Training Institute in Delhi.
The initiative is a continuation of a campaign launched by the company to provide equal opportunities to women on International Women’s Day, the company said in a release on Wednesday. Shenu Agarwal, MD & CEO, Ashok Leyland said. ,’ This is in line with our brand philosophy- ‘Koi Manzil Door Nahi’ we aim to bring alive the dreams of these women.’
Earlier Ashok Leyland had partnered with Mission Parivartan – a Delhi government initiative to train 180 women and many of them are now employed as bus drivers with the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC).
This International Women’s Day, under its mission to ‘Embrace Equity’, Ashok Leyland will train 100 more women at its state-of-the-art training facility in Delhi. They will be covered in specially designed training modules to prepare them for driving in different terrains. He was also given self-defense training.
The company has said that this year’s slogan of the campaign is – ‘Embrace Equity’. Through the campaign, Ashok Leyland is trying to change the perception of women in the commercial vehicle industry.
