Attacks on churches continued in Pakistan, copies of the Bible continued to be burnt, but human rights lovers around the world remained silent.

The condition of minorities in Pakistan is bad. Sometimes daughters of Hindus are forced to convert to Islam and get them married with middle aged men, sometimes Hindu temples and deities are damaged. Sometimes the news of atrocities on Sikhs, sometimes Sindhis, sometimes Christians and sometimes on any other minority community is common in Pakistan. If seen, if any minority community is to be attacked in Pakistan, it is first accused of blasphemy and then that community is targeted. Statistics show that various minorities in Pakistan, including Christians and Hindus, are frequently accused of blasphemy and most are prosecuted for blasphemy and given the harshest punishment. If seen, it is such an allegation of blasphemy that the government and the security forces of Pakistan also start supporting the miscreants and in no time the families of the minorities get destroyed. But it is surprising that in spite of so many atrocities on minorities in Pakistan, the world community remains silent. Big human rights organizations cover their mouths and the United Nations also sits idly by.

The silence of the global community on the attacks on hundreds of churches in Pakistan and the burning of hundreds of copies of the Holy Bible shows that the rights of minorities and human rights are invoked only in selected cases. Christians continue to be beaten in Pakistan and it is surprising that there is no voice of protest from the big churches around the world. Churches were being demolished in Pakistan but there is no commotion in Vatican which is surprising. Statements are made on behalf of the churches on the slightest issue, but such a big disaster has befallen the Christians in Pakistan, but no letter has been issued from anywhere, nor has any big statement come to the fore.

As far as the severe atrocities on the minority Christian community in Pakistan are concerned, let us tell you that 21 churches were attacked by a mob in Punjab province. In Jaranwala tehsil of Faisalabad district, some 130 km from Punjab’s provincial capital Lahore, hundreds of churches and houses were torched by angry mobs over alleged reports of two Christians desecrating the Quran. The frenzied mob did not even spare the Christian cemetery and ransacked there as well. The special thing is that Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan, a radical terrorist organization group, was also involved in those who attacked the churches. According to media reports, Christian community leaders in Faisalabad assessed the damage caused to their religious places and homes in Jaranwala and found that a total of 21 churches were set on fire or vandalized and hundreds of copies of the Bible were burnt on false charges of blasphemy. Was put It is being told that most of the Christians have left the area to save their lives and will return only after action is taken against those involved in attacks on churches and Christian homes.

Meanwhile, Bishop Azad Marshall, president of the Church of Pakistan, condemned the violence, saying copies of the Bible were burnt and members of the Christian community were “falsely accused of disrespecting the Holy Quran” and tortured. to be done. On the other hand, Pakistan has set up a 70-member special unit for the “protection of minority communities and their places of worship” to show the world. Along with this, it has also been promised that the places of worship of Christians will be rectified as soon as possible. But if seen, these promises seem empty because similar promises were made to Hindus as well, but the vandalism done in their places of worship was never rectified. The initiative for this was taken by the Hindu community itself. Not only this, when Hindu places of worship were attacked with rocket launchers recently, Pakistan’s special security forces were doing nothing but watching the spectacle. Not only this, those who have been arrested for attacks on churches will also be released as soon as the matter calms down a bit. It is also worth mentioning here that since elections are going to be held soon in Pakistan, the government would not want to anger the majority population at any cost.

However, talking about the minority population in Pakistan, according to the data collected from the National Database and Registration Authority, there are 22,10,566 people of minority Hindu community and 18,73,348 people of Christian community live in Pakistan. That is, Christians are the largest minority community after Hindus in Pakistan. But both of them are badly tortured. It is expected that the world community will take some initiative to get the minorities in Pakistan out of their plight.
