Pune. Domestic two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto is busy building a portfolio of motorcycles running on clean fuel CNG and plans to launch the first such bike in June this year. Bajaj Auto Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj said on Friday that the first bike running on clean fuel will hit the market in June. He said that the new bike will target cost-conscious customers and may be launched in the market under a separate brand.
However, Bajaj said that due to the high cost of manufacturing this bike, its price may be higher than petrol bikes. Bajaj also said that the sales of Pulsar bike, which was launched 20 years ago, is expected to cross the 20 lakh units mark soon. He also committed the Bajaj Group to spend Rs 5,000 crore for corporate social responsibility (CSR) over the next five years. This will benefit over two crore youth of the future and enable them to take advantage of the employment and entrepreneurship opportunities offered by India’s growing economy.
