Bengaluru’s MG Road tops country’s most dynamic shopping destination

New Delhi: Bengaluru’s MG Road has topped a list of 30 bustling high streets across cities in the country. It is followed by Somajiguda in Hyderabad and Linking Road in Mumbai. This has been concluded in a study report by real estate advisory company Knight Frank. As per the report, Delhi’s South Extension (Part 1 and Part 2) is at the fourth position. The ranking has been prepared on the basis of quality parameters of customer experience at these high street locations. Knight Frank India said, “Bengaluru has the best high streets, which provide customers with an enhanced shopping experience.” It has four markets in the top 10 list.
Knight Frank has released the report ‘Think India Think Retail 2023 – High Street Real Estate Outlook’ based on a survey of 30 high streets across eight major markets in the country. Kolkata’s Park Street and Camac Street are at the fifth position. These are followed by Anna Nagar in Chennai, Commercial Street in Bangalore, Sector-18 market in Noida, Brigade Marg in Bangalore and Church Street in Bangalore. The Top 10 High Street has been decided on the basis of ease of access, vehicle parking facilities and variety of retailers. The firm noted that markets starting from the main road and extending inside such as Delhi’s Khan Market and Gurugram’s DLF Galleria lagged behind in the ranking, while road-sides such as MG Road in Bengaluru to Somajiguda in Hyderabad, Linking Road in Mumbai, Anna Nagar in Kolkata, etc. , Park Street and Camac Street topped the list.
