According to the source, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation is verifying some documents related to this matter and will take a decision on restoring the simulator training facility after completion of this work. Air India’s fleet includes wide-body Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The airline uses the Boeing simulator facility to properly train its pilots to fly these aircraft.
Action taken on the report of the two-member inspection team
According to media reports, DGCA has temporarily suspended Air India’s Boeing simulator training facility due to some lapses. The regulator is verifying some documents related to this matter. When contacted, a senior Air India official said that the DGCA regularly reviews the functioning of the airline. However, he did not give any details about this decision. This action against Air India has been taken after the report of two-member inspection team of DGCA. The inspection team had found lapses in the internal safety audit report of the airline following which an inquiry was initiated into the matter. According to the report submitted to the DGCA, Air India did not take care of security points in several areas such as cabin surveillance, baggage handling and load carrying.
Air India has placed order for jet engines for 400 aircraft
After the mega aircraft order, Air India has done another big deal. The company has placed an order for 400 jet engines with CFM International in the month of July. Giving information about this on behalf of Air India, it has been told that Air India and CFM International have finalized the order of Leap engines for the new fleet of 400 narrow-body aircraft. These engines will power 210 Airbus A320/A321 Neo and 190 Boeing 737 Max aircraft. Explain that there is a Franco-American joint venture between CFM Aircraft Engines and GE Thursday. With this new agreement, along with India and America, there will be a new warmth in the relations between India and France.
Air India CFM customer since 2002
This agreement of Air India under the leadership of CEO Campbell Wilson took the entire industry by surprise. The two companies also signed a multi-year service agreement that will cover the airline’s entire fleet of Leap engines, CFM said in a statement. The contract was first announced in February. Air India has been a CFM customer since 2002, when it began operating the A320 Neo aircraft powered by the CFM56-5B engine. Air India CEO and Managing Director Campbell Wilson said, “We are delighted to have signed a great deal with CFM, which will play an important role in our growth in the future. Our service agreement along with the large scale introduction of the LEAP engine will help us optimize our operations in terms of environmental footprint and operating costs while benefiting our customers. The high-bypass turbofan Leap engines manufactured by the JV will power Air India’s new fleet of 210 Airbus A320neo/A321neos and 190 Boeing 737 MAX family.
Indigo also did a big deal in June
On the one hand, the airlines are facing problems in the Indian market for the last few years. At the same time, in the month of June, IndiGo Airlines did a big deal. The company has announced the purchase of 500 Airbus A320 aircraft. This is the biggest order given by any Indian aviation company together. This historic deal has happened between Indigo and Airbus. IndiGo said that the delivery of the Airbus is expected between 2023 and 2035. For this, the board of Indigo has approved a fund of $ 50 billion.
