The Bombay High Court today directed actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his ex-wife Aaliya Siddiqui to appear before it on April 3 along with their two minor children. This is so that the possibility of solving their issue amicably can be explored for the sake of the children. The actor had filed a habeas corpus petition regarding the production of the accused, requesting the court to direct his ex-wife to give information about their 12-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son. A bench of Justice Revati Mohite Dere and Justice Sharmila Deshmukh was hearing this petition of the actor.

Must be present on 3rd April

Nawazuddin Siddiqui claimed that his wife brought the children from Dubai to India without informing him and this is affecting their children’s education as they are not going to school. The bench today directed the actor, his ex-wife and their two children to appear before the court on April 3 during an in-camera hearing to be held in the judge’s chamber. “We are concerned about the children… Let us explore the possibility of an amicable settlement,” the court said.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s lawyer said this

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s lawyer Adnan Sheikh told the bench that earlier the condition of the proposed consent has been sent on the instructions of the High Court. Sheikh said, “We have sent the conditions of the proposed consent. It’s been six days, but we haven’t received any response yet. It doesn’t seem like they want a settlement.” Advocate Chaitanya Purakar, appearing for Zainab, however, argued that she too wanted to settle the matter.
