Ajay Devgan’s super hit ‘Drishyam Series’ was a remake of South’s successful film ‘Drishyam’. Everyone knows how amazing this film proved to be at the box office. Now Ajay Devgan has once again brought ‘Bhola’, a remake of South’s ‘Kaithi’ (Tamil). But this time Ajay is not only the hero, but is playing the triple responsibility of producer-director. While Ajay cemented his family man avatar in ‘Drishyam’, this time he is seen as a high-octane action hero.

Story of ‘Bhola’

The story begins with a bang-up action sequence where ACP Diana (Tabu) is chasing a cocaine laden truck. Introducing her bravery, despite being shot, she seizes cocaine worth one thousand crores and also hides it in the secret bunker of Lalganj police station. Diana’s boss (Kiran Kumar) advises her that this information should remain a secret until the court takes custody of the goods. But both of them are unaware that the informer (Gajraj Rao) present in their force is giving all the information to Ashwatthama (Deepak Dobriyal) of the drug smuggling mafia gang.

Ashwatthama and his dreaded brother Nithari are the masterminds of this entire mafia. Diana and her team are made victims of a conspiracy. They are drugged and knocked unconscious, now the policemen’s lives are in danger, but Diana survives because she didn’t drink. The biggest challenge before Diana is to get the unconscious policemen to the hospital for treatment. At the same time, he has to reach his police station as well, so that the mafia cannot make a dent in that goods. For this work, she seeks help from Bhola (Ajay Devgn). Actually Bhola has been released from jail after ten years. While in jail, Bholaa learns that he has a daughter, who lives in an orphanage in Lucknow. He is desperate to meet his daughter. The story progresses with how Bhola, who goes out to meet his daughter, gets into trouble with Diana.

On the other hand, the responsibility of the Lalganj police station falls on the Havaldar (Sanjay Mishra) who came on duty the same day and the three youths present there. Will Bhola help Diana or go to meet Beti? Will they be able to save the lives of both the policemen? Will Ashwatthama be able to get back the goods by breaking into the police station with the help of his informer? Will you find answers to all these questions in the film?

review of ‘Bhola’

Ajay Devgan as the director sets the tone of the feel with smoke-filled action sequences in the very first scene. The story is of one night and the intensity of the action is felt more in the black and dark night. The specialty of its action is that it looks fresh despite being raw. The film also has a chasing sequence of 5-7 minutes, which gives goosebumps. But at the level of emotions, the film proves to be nineteen. The original film ‘Kaithi’ had a beautiful balance of action as well as emotion. It is difficult to find the logic of fight or action in action-packed films, how a single hero manages to get rid of 30-40 people at once, but the way that action is choreographed in Bhola, it is like a cinema lover. Proves to be a visual treat.

Bhola’s character has been glorified by Makarand Deshpande, giving him a larger than life feel on screen. The track of Bhola’s flashback leaves some questions unanswered, but the film’s cinematographer Aseem Bajaj has done the work of showing the story of one night on camera very cleverly. He has also done many experiments in camera angles. Several close-up shots and action sequences are a treat to watch on the screen. Especially during the Ganga Aarti, the entire Banaras is shown in a drone shot and the action sequences in the truck have become amazing. For this action director Ramzan Bulut and RP Yadav have to be praised.

While the background music should have been worked on, there should have been some research on the language spoken by the characters. Although watching a movie in 3D can be a cinematic experience. Talking about the music, the song ‘Nazar Lag Jayegi’ has turned out to be beautiful. Ajay has already talked about making Bhola’s universe and the audience gets a hint of it in the climax.

The acting and casting is the strong point of the film. Jai Devgan is in his full form as Bhola. As a thrilling action hero, Ajay’s emotions do not seem to be over, while he is successful in his emotional track with the daughter. In the story, his devotee of Shiva can prove to be the center of attraction for the devotees of Shiva. Tabu has done full justice to the role of a brave cop. She manages to win even in emotional scenes.

Amala Paul looks beautiful in the guest role of Ajay’s wife. Sanjay Mishra has beautifully executed the role of Havaldar, who tries to save his police station from the mafia. While Deepak Dobriyal is remembered as a dreaded villain, Gajraj Rao surprises. Actors like Vineet Kumar and Raj Kiran have also been good.

Why see – Fans of action films and fans of Ajay Devgan can watch this film.
