BSP is in touch with small parties, can make alliance in other states except UP-Uttarakhand

Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati may have distanced herself from the NDA and Indi alliance, but to increase its strength, her party is definitely exploring the possibility of contesting the Lok Sabha elections by forming an alliance with regional parties of other states except Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. BSP’s alliance with parties of states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana is considered fixed. The alliance will be announced as soon as the number of seats is decided.

According to BSP leaders, talks of alliance with Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) in Haryana, while in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh with Gondwana Ganatantra Party (GOGPA) are in the final stages. By forming an alliance, BSP can field its candidates on six seats in Haryana. Mayawati’s nephew and party’s national coordinator Akash Anand is talking to various regional parties in this regard. It is noteworthy that Mayawati has entrusted Akash with the responsibility of increasing the strength of BSP in other states except Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. BSP currently has a total of 10 MPs, all of whom have won elections from UP. BSP does not have a single MP from other states.

Another big change is being seen in BSP supremo Mayawati. This change is also clearly visible from many recent statements of Mayawati. Mayawati now seems to be getting rid of those political slogans with the help of which she became the top leader of the Dalits and extremely backward classes i.e. Bahujan Samaj in North India and also became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, the country’s largest state, four times. Keeping away from the famous slogans of BSP in the nineties, Mayawati is now saying that these slogans were coined by the Samajwadi Party to defame BSP. Talking about slogans, after the demolition of Babri structure on December 6, 1992, there was a historic alliance between Mulayam Singh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party and Kanshi Ram’s Bahujan Samaj Party in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections held in 1993. During this period, a slogan became very popular, ‘Mile Mulayam-Kanshi Ram, Hawa mein ud gaye Jai Shri Ram’. Referring to this slogan, some time ago Mayawati tweeted that in reality it has been the nature of Samajwadi Party to do politics of caste hatred and unrestrained issues instead of development and public interest of Uttar Pradesh.

She says in another tweet that the slogans that were publicized related to Ayodhya, Shri Ram Mandir and upper caste society etc. were a well-planned conspiracy by SP to defame BSP. Therefore, there is a strong need for especially Dalits, other backward classes and Muslim community to be cautious of such activities of SP. Mayawati’s attempt to get rid of old slogans shows that she may move towards BJP in future. Just like she has done before, but now the word ‘Manuvadi’ is not heard from her mouth which was earlier her favorite word. However, it is difficult to say whether she is hoping for success for her party by doing politics on this line or whether there is something else going on in her mind.

On the other hand, as the Lok Sabha elections are approaching, the restlessness of BSP leaders is increasing. They are not able to understand what their party will do and what they should do. In fact, the problems of BSP leaders, especially the party MPs, have increased since the time of assembly elections.
