The people of Bihar have high hopes in Union Budget 2023. There are nine railway projects in Bihar which are stuck due to one reason or the other. People are hopeful that these schemes can be revived in this budget. Recently, Revenue and Land Reforms Department Minister Alok Mehta has given instructions to complete the process of land acquisition for rail projects as soon as possible. The process of land acquisition is going on for about a dozen rail projects in Bihar. Most of the projects are at compensation stage only. Minister Alok Mehta has instructed all district land acquisition officers that there should not be any kind of negligence at the department level. It has been asked to maintain coordination with the Railways and related other authorities for compensation and redressal of ryot’s problems etc.
Bihar Sharif-Sheikhpura New Rail Line Proposed Project
There are 200 ryots in Narayanpur Mouja, a detailed report has been demanded and the Railways has been directed to hand over the encroachment.
Araria- Galgaliya New Rail Line Project
After completing the process of land acquisition in Araria district, the encroachment has been handed over to the applicant department. 80 percent compensation amount has been distributed, but 20 percent ryots are obstructing the work due to non-completion of compensation distribution by Railways. In Kishanganj district itself, the compensation distribution case of 40 acres of land for this project is pending. The minister has given instructions to complete the action by March.
Darbhanga Bypass Rail Line Doubling
175. 00 crore has been received from the Railways. Compensation of about 48.00 crores has been paid to the ryots. 100.00 crores was refunded.
Work of Rajendra Pul Additional Bridge affected
Rs 19.09 crore has been received for the acquisition of 24.475 acres of land in Patna for the Rampur-Dumra-Tal-Rajendra Pul Additional Bridge, but compensation is not being taken by a large number of ryots. Due to this the work of land acquisition has stopped.
Badh-Bakhtiyarpur Third Big New Rail Line (Bakhtiyarpur Flyover)
For the proposed project, out of 14.41 crore received in the process of acquisition of total 12.2415 acres of land in Patna district, a total amount of 10.00 crore has been distributed. The remaining matter has been referred to the court and the interference possession has been handed over to the Railways.
Araria-Supaul new rail line Disbursement of 146.0 cr.
Araria-Supaul new rail line It is proposed to acquire 767.23 acres of land in Araria district. The preliminary notification for acquisition of total 116.092 acres of land has been published. Out of the total amount of 237.647 crore, 146.0 crore has been distributed.
Chhapra-Muzaffarpur New Rail Line Project
Out of 204, 00 crore received for a total of 480.705 acres, an amount of 147.00 crore has been distributed.
Hajipur-Sugauli Rail Line Project
A total of 818.72 acres of land is to be acquired in two phases in East Champaran. In the first phase, a total of 228 18 acres of land of 28 mouza has been acquired and the possession has been handed over to the Railways. Out of 21 mouzas of the second phase, the possession of the land of 18 mouzas has been handed over to the Railways. DPR of 208.0966 acres of land of Teen Mauza is under process.
