He said, “It has been made purely keeping in mind the upcoming elections. There is nothing for Chhattisgarh in the budget.”

Ahead of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s budget presentation, CM Baghel echoed the demands made by the people in Chhattisgarh. He said that people have demanded new trains in Jagdalpur and Surguja areas and also demanded that GST and Central Excise for the state should be released at the earliest. He said earlier, “Earlier Railways used to have a separate budget, but now such announcements are not made separately. We also demand that our share of GST and Central Excise should be released at the earliest.”
Finance Minister announces an outlay of about Rs 2.4 lakh crore for Railways
In the biggest ever effort, the Finance Minister announced an outlay of about Rs 2.4 lakh crore for the Indian Railways, which will be used for electrification and station facilities and railway tracks etc. FM Sitharaman in her speech said, “Indian Railways capital outlay has been set at ₹2.40 lakh crore, the highest ever; 9 times what it was in 2013.”
