Farmers are also encouraged for organic farming. The farmers of the state have a lot of expectations from the budget 2023-2024. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the General Budget 2023-24 on February 1. The farmers of the state are waiting for a grant of Rs 600 crore from this budget. This grant was announced in 2015. Farmers are hopeful that this time they can get a benefit of Rs 600 crore in the budget.
Farmers have a lot of expectations from this budget
In many states of the country, grants are being given by the government for organic farming. For this many new schemes have been started. Organic farming is being expanded in the state. The government is also giving financial help to encourage the farmers towards such farming. A provision of Rs 600 crore is proposed under the mission to provide seeds, fertilizers and pesticides to the farmers for organic farming.
The government encouraged the use of Single Super Phosphate (SSP) as an alternative to DAP. Under this, drone technology, chemical-free natural farming, public-private partnership will be promoted to the farmers. Emphasis will be laid on drone technology for digitization and spraying of pesticides while providing better technology to the farmers.
Provision of Rs 600 crore to promote oilseed farming
Bihar government is encouraging farmers to meet the needs of oilseeds. In order to promote its cultivation in order to become self-sufficient in edible oils, the government has created ‘Raj Kisan Sathi Portal’ for the convenience of the farmers. It is working as a single window for the farmers and those doing agriculture related business.
Expectations from Budget 2023
A provision of Rs 600 crore has been made to promote oilseed crops. Under this, more paddy production will be promoted through barren land, inter-cropping, mustard and soyabean mission in non-traditional states and crop diversification. Now the farmers of Bihar have hope from this budget that they will get the Rs 600 crore which was announced in 2015.
