Byju’s journey

The learning app turned out to be a gamechanger for tuition teacher Raveendran. The craze for smartphones was on the rise and the new trend of learning from apps became a hit at that time. His app became popular in no time. Initially, he kept free content on Byju. Later started charging fees. Byju’s has more than 150 million app downloads. Students spend around 71 minutes on their platform every day. The company spent heavily on advertising. Spent money lavishly on sponsorship. Whose benefit he also got. To grow its business, Byju bought Aakash Educational Services (Aakash), which provides IIT, medical preparation, for Rs 7300 crore.
