The launch vehicle booster segments and subsystems for the Chandrayaan-3 mission have been developed by Larsen & Toubro. Similarly, the batteries have been supplied by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited. The test and evaluation system has been developed by the Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation while the mission components have been made by Walchand Industries. Hyderabad-based company ATL’s founder and CMD Subba Rao Pavuluri said the company has built a variety of electronics and mechanical subsystems for ISRO’s launch vehicles, satellites, spacecraft payloads and ground systems.

Mumbai-based company Godrej & Boyce has supplied critical components such as liquid propulsion engines, satellite thrusters and control modules for the Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan missions. In India, in 2020, its space sector was opened for private sector participation. Last year, a consortium of HAL and L&T had won a deal worth Rs 860 crore from New Space India Limited to build five PSLVs.
