Now the names of 19 places in the Southern Indian Ocean have changed. China has dared to change the names of 19 islands in the South Indian Ocean, which are about 2000 kilometers away from the Indian peninsula. Chinese media have called this Beijing’s ‘soft power’ projection. This action taken by China is a direct interference on India’s sovereignty and Indian influence in the Indian Ocean region. This is Xi Jinping’s second audacity to tamper with India’s sovereignty within a month. This is being seen as China’s expansionist attitude and China’s increasing interference in the Indian region.

In the last five years, China has done this audacity to change its name thrice. Before April this year, he had changed the names of 15 places in 2021 and six in 2017. However, even then India had outright rejected the new names by registering a protest. This new map of China has come to the fore after the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping at the BRICS Summit and before the G-20 summit to be held in New Delhi early next month. The whole world sees and understands China’s expansionist attitude and its intention to grab the land of other countries. China has neither been trustworthy in the past nor is it likely to be in the future. In India’s case, China’s attitude has always been of hostility and unauthorized occupation of its territories. It has also become clear from China’s past actions that China will never support efforts to establish friendly relations with India.

The recent claim by Rahul Gandhi that China is in possession of Ladakh’s land was a misleading statement made in a hurry without thinking, it only shows that he is an enemy nation like China. This attitude of his is not new, but it is dangerous for the country.
