The assembly of the US state of Georgia has passed a resolutionIn which Hinduphobia, anti-Hindu bigotry has been condemned. Georgia has become the first US state to take such a step. Hinduphobia refers to hostile and derogatory behavior towards Hindu religion and Hindus. It has been said in the resolution that Hinduism is one of the largest and oldest religions of the world. It has 1.2 billion followers in about 100 countries all over the world. It houses a range of diverse traditions and belief systems with values of acceptance, mutual respect and peace. The resolution was introduced by Representative Lauren McDonald and Tad Jones of Forsyth County in the suburbs of Atlanta, home to one of Georgia’s largest Hindu and Indian-American expatriate communities. The resolution said that the American Indian community has a significant contribution in many key areas of the country. These include health, science, engineering, information technology, finance, education, construction, energy and retail, among other sectors. Yoga, Ayurveda, meditation, food, music, art have enriched the cultural fabric of the Hindu community. It has been widely adopted in American society, improving the lives of millions of people. The resolution said that in many parts of the country, cases of hate crimes against Hindu-Americans have been registered in the last few decades. Hinduphobia is being exaggerated by some people in academia who support the abolition of Hinduism.

Significantly, in 2021, more than 40 universities organized a conference on the issue of Dismantling Global Hindutva, which was seen by many Hindu organizations as an indirect attack on Hinduism. These included the University of California Berkeley, the University of Chicago, the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia, Harvard, Princeton and Stanford, according to Berkeley’s Institute for South Asian Studies. The report on bias crimes released last month by the Federal Bureau of Investigation covering the year 2021 said that 16 anti-Hindu crimes were committed, in which 18 were victims. This is more than the 11 offenses in the past.

Globally, Hinduism comes after Christianity and Islam, but the truth is that Hinduism is always the target of the followers of Christianity and Islam. This process is centuries old, while those who believe in Hinduism have never propagated religion on the basis of force, nor have they converted, on the contrary, those who believe in Christianity and Islam have tried to convert Hindus. For this, all kinds of handcuffs have been adopted for centuries, not from today.

Hindu religion has been flourishing for centuries even after all kinds of tricks adopted by Hindu opponents and today there are people who believe in Hindu religion in more than 100 countries of the world, then the reason for this is the virtues of Hindu religion.

Those who believe in Hinduism believe that • The creator, controller and merger of this entire universe is one God, who is in all and pervades everywhere. Nature is his companion. Sun, moon, planets, constellations, fire, air, water, sky etc. are the identity of the same Parabrahma. Although he is one, yet his light comes in many forms. The role of the Guru is that of a true guide. • The body is mortal, but the soul is immortal. According to the deeds, the soul continues to be born and died in different species until it is freed from the cycle of birth and death through devotion, karma yoga, penance, knowledge yoga etc. This liberation is the ultimate goal of human life. Karma phal principle means, as you do, so shall you get. • The soul resides in animals and birds too, but they have pleasures. Man-Yoni, Bhogayoni and Karmayoni are both. Therefore, salvation is possible only through the human form, and its main means is virtue and good deeds. • Hinduism believes in four purusharthas of human beings—namely, Dharma (right deeds or say duty towards self and society), Artha (earning of wealth and its proper use), Kama (physical and mental desires and their fulfillment), and Moksha (birth- deliverance from death). Keeping in mind the four-fold life of human being, Dharma-Artha-Kama-Moksha, Varna-Ashram system, religion-related Manusmriti etc. texts were created. According to Hindu religion and social system, there are four stages or four parts of human life-Yatha, Brahmacharya, (learning, training, discipline etc. parallel to religion), Grihastha, (family life, equivalent to meaning and work), Vanaprastha (spiritual life) preparation) and sannyasa (renunciation of the home, public life, corresponding to salvation). • There are many ways to attain moksha, or the supreme state, such as knowledge, devotion, chanting, penance, charity, hatha yoga, faithfully performing one’s assigned duty without regard to retribution, etc. If a person calls God by any name, by any symbol, at any place, he listens and also answers. Although it is invisible by the skin-eyes, it has no definite form, yet it is present in all corporeal things. Mind and action have the most importance in the path of spirituality. There is no middleman between the divine and the soul. • In Manusmriti, the most ancient code of man’s deeds-non-action, crime and punishment, the duties of the state and the king, ten signs of religion have been described-Dhriti, Kshama, Dum, Asteya (not stealing), Shauch (purity of body-mind ), sense control, (right) intelligence, learning, truth and renunciation of anger. • Permanent happiness is in renunciation, not in accumulation of wealth. • The most sacred name of the Supreme Lord is ‘O’ (ú).

The above beliefs of Hinduism turn religion into a lifestyle as a result of which Hinduism is today the third largest religion in the world despite centuries of opposition. Regarding the people who believe in Hinduism, the matter has been said through the resolution passed in the State Assembly of Georgia, that is why a systematic campaign is being conducted against Hinduism both in the country and abroad and attacks on Hindus and their temples. are also happening. Looking at the above facts, it is the need of the hour for the Hindus to unite and answer their opponents on every platform with logic and actions.
