All of us and our forefathers have become Muslims only after converting. He said that even in Kashmir 600 years ago all were Hindus. Everyone was born in this soil. On this, the BJP said that if the truth told by Ghulam Nabi is accepted then all the problems of India will end. Not only Azad, NC President and former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah has also accepted that his forefathers were Kashmiri Hindus. Azad, the chairman of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party, has said that Muslims did not come here from outside, but the Hindus of this place converted to Islam. He said that Hindu religion is ancient. Even if the Mughals had come here from outside, there were few Muslims in their army, the rest were converted. Azad said that we were born in this soil. Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Dalit, Brahmin, Gujjar-Bakarwal, Kashmiri, we all are part of this country and this soil.

What senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has said is the truth. If the Muslims settled in Kashmir and other states of India change their attitude considering what Ghulam Nabi has accepted, then perhaps there will be a positive change not only in the politics of the country but in every sphere of life.
In Kashmir, the period of conversion by sword took place during the time of Sultan Sikandar, when he ruled the valley during 1389-1413, he destroyed so many temples that Sikandar came to be known as ‘Butt Shikan’. There is no such city, town, village, forest in the valley where the idols of gods and goddesses have not been broken. The Sultan even tried to destroy the famous Martand temple but later abandoned such work. The Sultan prohibited $non-Islamic activities such as drinking alcohol, gambling, dancing and playing music. Jizya tax was imposed on Hindus and they were banned from applying sandalwood on their forehead. To ensure the complete observance of Islamic instructions, Alexander started the institution of Shaikh-ul-Islam. Under the supervision of the Sultan’s prime minister, Malik Saifuddin, a vigorous campaign to convert to Islam was launched. The original name of the Prime Minister was Suha Bhatt. He renounced Hinduism to accept Islam. This new, converted minister had unbridled enthusiasm. He wreaked havoc on the opponents of religious conversion. It is believed that the Sultan and his Prime Minister drowned all the holy books of the Hindus in their hands in the Dal Lake and the sacred thread of the seven hearts of the slain Brahmins was burnt. It was from this time that Muslims became a majority in the valley.

What happened in the Kashmir Valley during the time of Sultan Sikandar, something happened in other parts of the country as well. Muslim attackers converted on the power of sword. Hinduism is ages older than Islam. Islam came later, this is a truth that cannot be denied. Ghulam Nabi Azad has accepted this truth only. If others also accept this truth and implement it, then there will be a positive change in the politics and social life of the country, which will benefit every Indian.
