In the cabinet meeting chaired by PM Modi, work was done to approve the increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) by 4% for central government employees and pensioners. The increased rates of dearness allowance will be applicable from January 2023. Arrears will be given to employees and pensioners.
Decision in CCEA meeting
There was a meeting of the Union Cabinet on Friday evening in which the decision on DA Hike was taken. After this, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur gave information in this regard. Today, in the meeting of the Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs (CCEA), it was decided to increase the dearness allowance by 4%. Dearness Allowance has now increased to 42% of the total.
Payment of new dearness allowance fixed in March salary
Formal approval has been announced for dearness allowance, work will be done to increase it to 42%. Immediately after the approval of the cabinet, the Finance Ministry notifies it. After the notification is issued, the salary of the central employees will be paid. It is believed that the new dearness allowance will be paid in the March salary.
