DA Hike New Update: Central employees and pensioners are waiting for the increase in dearness allowance from the government, but the increase in dearness allowance has not been announced yet. Some media claim that dearness allowance for central employees and dearness relief for pensioners can be increased during the month of September. However, nothing has been decided officially yet.
According to a PTI report, on July 31, AICPI index figures for June were released, according to which, if calculated, there would be a three per cent increase in dearness allowance and dearness relief. If this increase happens, then the DA of the employees will increase from 42 percent to 45 percent.
How is dearness allowance decided?
Dearness Allowance is fixed on the basis of monthly data of All India Consumer Price Index. The number of dearness allowance applicable in July 2023 is decided on the basis of AICPI index from January to June. On the other hand, if the trend of the figures of six months is seen, then it is certain that there will be an increase of 4 percent in the dearness allowance. However, the final decision will be taken by the government.
How much will be the increase in salary?
If the DA increases by four percent, then the monthly dearness allowance will be Rs.500. 8280 on a basic pay of Rs. For government employees, there will be a monthly increase of Rs 18,000. 720. There will be an increase of Rs.8640 annually. While the maximum basic pay is Rs 56,900, then there will be an increase of Rs 2276 in the monthly salary at 46 per cent dearness allowance. This means that Rs 27312 will increase annually.
