Releasing the report at a press conference here on Thursday, Nokia’s senior vice president and company’s India market head Sanjay Malik said mobile data usage in the country has grown more than 3.2 times in the last five years to more than 14 exabytes per month. has reached. He informed that as per the Nokia report, mobile data usage in the country is expected to increase from 4.5 exabytes per month in 2018 to 14.4 exabytes in 2022. The commercial launch of 5G in October has also signaled an increase in mobile data consumption as communication service providers rapidly roll out 5G networks in new areas.
He informed that the consumption of average data per user has increased rapidly since 2018 to reach 19.5 GB in 2022. The total mobile data consumption in the country is estimated to be 43.7 exabytes by 2024.
It is noteworthy that in India, Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel have started their 5G network service in the country by 2022.
From the third quarter onwards, their services are operational at various high usage locations. According to the report, in 2022, seven crore 5G devices were sold in India.
According to the report, per user mobile data consumption in India is expected to grow at a rate of 19 per cent year-on-year from 9.7 GB per month in 2018 to 19.5 GB per month in 2022.
Investment on private wireless infrastructure in India is estimated to be $ 250 million, which will be used by companies providing public utility facilities such as transportation, manufacturing, electricity and water.
