Export of handicrafts will increase next year
The export of handicrafts had increased rapidly during the Corona period. If the export of handicrafts during the year 2018-19 was Rs 25,548.97 crore. After one year it means that in 2019-20 it was reduced to Rs 25,270.14 crore. In the year 2020-21, it had increased to Rs 25,679.98 crore. Last year, it had increased by about 30 per cent to reach Rs 33,253 crore. It is being estimated to decrease during the current financial year. But next year it is said to increase further.
Day after tomorrow the 55th edition of the Delhi fair will start.
The 55th edition of IHGF Delhi Fair is starting day after tomorrow i.e. on 15th March. It will run till 19 March 2023. Organized by EPCH, foreign buyers will get an opportunity to purchase and sourcing Indian handicrafts in this fair. Domestic retail buyers will also get a shopping opportunity in this fair. EPCH Director General Rakesh Kumar says that now the interest of Indian buyers in the Delhi fair has also started increasing. The previous edition of the fair saw a good presence of domestic buyers.
What will be seen in the fair
Rakesh Kumar says that IHGF – Delhi Fair Spring 2023 will see a variety of unique products. This time more than 3,000 exhibitors are coming from all over the country. This time collectively they will introduce more than 2000 new products in the fair. In addition, more than 300 designs will be presented. These include housewares, home furnishing, furniture, gifts & decoratives, lamps & lighting, festive decor, fashion jewelery & accessories, spa & wellness, carpets & rugs, bathroom accessories, garden accessories, education toys & games, handmade paper products and stationery and leather bags etc.
Where are the buyers coming from
Buyers from 92 countries have given confirmation of coming to the Spring 2023 fair. These include wholesalers, distributors, chain stores, departmental stores, retailers, mail order companies, brand owners, home designers, trend forecasters, etc. Countries where buyers are coming include United Kingdom, USA, Canada, Germany, France, Spain, Norway, Greece, Italy, Sweden, Turkey, Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Slovenia, UAE, Brazil, Japan, Lithuania, Argentina, Countries include Armenia, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia etc.
