New Delhi. The Delhi government has sent the file of the Cabinet decision to continue the electricity subsidy scheme in 2024-25 to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena for approval. Government officials said this on Saturday. The Delhi Cabinet had last Thursday approved a scheme to provide free supply to consumers consuming up to 200 units of electricity per month and 50 per cent subsidy to consumers consuming 201-400 units per month.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, however, alleged in the Assembly on Saturday that the BJP wanted to send him to jail and stop the good works of his government like free electricity scheme and mohalla clinics. Finance Minister Atishi had presented a total budget of Rs 76,000 crore of the Kejriwal government in the Delhi Assembly on Monday. In Delhi, about 22 lakh families who consume up to 200 units of electricity have zero electricity bills.
