Hotels in Delhi’s Karol Bagh and Najafgarh areas have announced 20 percent discount to increase voting percentage in the Lok Sabha elections. New Delhi . To increase the voting percentage in the Lok Sabha elections, hotels in Delhi’s Karol Bagh and Najafgarh areas have announced 20 percent discount. Officials said on Tuesday that this relaxation will be given to eligible voters. Lok Sabha elections are to be held in Delhi on 25 May. “This initiative underlines the important role of voters in strengthening democracy and promoting civic responsibility,” said Abhishek Mishra, Deputy Commissioner, Karol Bagh region.
Under this scheme, voters will have to provide proof of voting by showing the ink mark on their finger to avail the exemption. He also said that the Public Health Department of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is also contacting traders in the Karol Bagh area to explore the possibility of a similar attractive offer. Deputy Commissioner of Najafgarh region Badal Kumar has also asked the Hotel and Guest House Association of Mahipalpur to give exemption to the voters. He said eligible voters can avail the discount by booking within 24 hours of casting their vote.
