The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has recently extended the application date for the first time for the ‘Doc Film Bazaar’, which is to be held along with the 18th Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF). The new extension date is April 10, 2024, which will give filmmakers more time to submit their projects.
‘Doc Film Bazaar’ is a platform designed to promote and support the development of documentary, short films and animation content by showcasing the talent of filmmakers, producers and distributors. It aims to facilitate collaboration, co-production opportunities and financing opportunities for projects in the Indian, Iranian and Afghan regions.
Key segments of the program include ‘Doc Co-Production Market’ (CPM), ‘Doc Viewing Room’ (VR), and ‘Doc Work-in-Progress Lab’ (WIP). ‘CPM’ is a platform specifically designed to provide artistic and financial support from the global film fraternity. It provides an opportunity for filmmakers and potential producers to connect and collaborate on projects.
‘VR’ is a platform for filmmakers to showcase their projects, and features a curated selection of films. ‘WIP’ is a closed-door laboratory for films that are in the difficult stages of production. It provides guidance, feedback and opportunities for filmmakers to interact with industry professionals.
