In 1990, when Anand Mohan was elected MLA from Mahishi Vidhansabha for the first time on a Janata Dal ticket, the first thing he did was to oppose the Mandal Commission. Against this they took to the streets. He gained a foothold among the Rajputs and was successful in creating sympathy for himself among other upper caste voters. In the Vaishali Lok Sabha by-election, his wife Lovely Anand trounced the RJD and reached Parliament. But now all this is a thing of the old days. No relationship is permanent in politics. So yesterday’s fiercest opponents are seen together today. But even in this era of changing politics, people have every right to know what happened to those ideologies, whose politics these politicians were doing? Have RJD and JDU given up the fascination of the Mandal Commission or has Anand Mohan started believing that he had made a big mistake by opposing the Mandal Commission?

RJD has also tried to improve its image in the last few years. Generally, RJD is considered to be anti-upper caste and a party doing politics of backward-Dalits. But Anand Mohan’s image is just the opposite. RJD’s ‘My equation’ is still not in a position to forget that Anand Mohan’s image is not only that of a strong leader, but he is also anti-Dalit and backward. On the other hand, there is RJD, which is still careless about My Samkeeran and is engaged in stealing upper caste votes. He is feeling that with the arrival of Anand Mohan, the votes of the Rajputs of Bihar will also come into his account. Rajput vote in Bihar is 6 to 8 percent. But it would be superfluous to say that with the arrival of Anand Mohan, all the Rajput votes would go to the Grand Alliance’s account. Caste is still true in the politics of Bihar, but the time has passed a little ahead of the era of tribal chieftains. Due to the arrival of Anand Mohan or his words, some votes of Rajputs may be swayed here and there, but it is superfluous to say that the entire Rajput community will rise in favor of the Grand Alliance. For the Grand Alliance, it may be like sailing on two boats. One thing is often seen in the history of wars that the king is careless about the main fort and has started climbing the second fort. The enemy knows that the attention of the king and his soldiers is now on the second fort, so the enemy captures the main fort. All the weapons and ammunition are in the main fort, so the king loses the battle for the second fort as well.

Many of us will also remember the era of Bihar politics when upper castes were considered as Congress voters. Those who were Congress voters till yesterday are BJP voters today. And the biggest thing is that they are seeing their future in BJP. Their way of thinking has also changed and therefore, be it Rajput or Bhumihar, Brahmin or Kayastha, they do not see any future in leaders like Anand Mohan. In the last few years, the BJP has succeeded in attracting the Dalits and Backwards towards itself. And definitely it will be able to convince the Dalits and OBCs that DM G. By releasing the killers of Krishnaiah, the Grand Alliance has done anti-Dalit work. Because Telangana-based IAS officer G. Krishnaiah came from the Dalit community and was considered an honest officer. In the coming elections, it is possible that some old equations may be broken and some new equations may be formed in the politics of Bihar. Although the BJP has not yet openly opposed the release of Anand Mohan. The BJP was silent even when the jail manual was being changed for the release of Anand Mohan. Perhaps BJP was also worried about Rajput votes. The BJP has now started opposing the release of Anand Mohan but in a different way. Now BJP is saying that the release of Anand Mohan is fine but why 27 other criminals have been released along with him? On the other hand, the BJP is also trying to tell that by releasing Anand Mohan, the Grand Alliance has done anti-Dalit work.

Even more interesting are the supporters of Anand Mohan who reached Saharsa to meet him on the occasion of his release. Many of his supporters who reached Saharsa from different areas of Bihar and Kosi said that they welcome the release of Anand Mohan but they do not want to see Anand Mohan with JDU-RJD. They like to see Anand Mohan with BJP.

The Grand Alliance has also tried to bring together the ‘Known Enemies’ of an era. In November last year, on the occasion of daughter’s engagement, Anand Mohan came out on parole. Pappu Yadav was also invited for this. The pictures of both of them having an affair went viral on social media. Although it was a formal meeting, but many political meanings were derived from it. The question was also raised whether the ‘Known Enemies’ of one era will now come together? Many stories of ‘known enmity’ of these two are famous even today in Kosi region. There have been several incidents of gang war between the two groups. Many lives have been lost in the struggle for supremacy between the two factions in the 90s. So the question was bound to arise. But if you look at the current political scenario of Bihar, you will find that Pappu Yadav is more beneficial for the grand alliance today, not Anand Mohan. There are many reasons for this. The first reason is that Pappu Yadav has been acquitted in the Male leader Ajit Sarkar murder case due to lack of evidence, but DM G. In the Krishnaiah murder case, Anand Mohan was sentenced to death by the trial court, which was commuted to life imprisonment by the High Court. Anand Mohan’s supporters may say that he is innocent in the DM murder case, but the truth is that even the court has approved it. That’s why to say that they are completely innocent is contempt of court somewhere. The second and biggest reason is that after being released from jail, Pappu Yadav continuously tried to improve his image. Leaving the image of Bahubali leader, he went among the people and tried to connect with their happiness and sorrow. Even today ‘My Equation’ has sympathy for Pappu Yadav and many people may be surprised to know that even upper caste people have started sympathizing with him. Although even today many serious cases against him are pending in various courts. On the other hand, it will take a long time for Anand Mohan to come out of the Bahubali leader image.

JDU-RJD are aware of the fact that Pappu Yadav can be more beneficial for them but they do not want to rely on Pappu Yadav. There is a contradiction between the two which is clearly visible. Leaving RJD, Pappu Yadav has formed his second party in the name of Janadhikar Party. His wife Ranjita Ranjan has been an MP from Congress and is a well-known leader. It is also being speculated that Pappu Yadav’s party may merge with the Congress. Such a situation can be disturbing for both JDU and RJD. Due to the strengthening of the BJP, it is their compulsion to form an alliance with the Congress. But JDU and RJD will never want Congress to be strong again in Bihar. Because even this harm is to them, not to the BJP. Time will tell how much the vote bank will be affected by the release of Anand Mohan, but it is certain that due to his release, the politics of Bihar will remain high for some days to come.
