In her speech before presenting the interim budget in Parliament, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the government aims to grow and strengthen the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem by supporting manufacturing and charging infrastructure. Apart from this, he also mentioned the launch of a new bio-manufacturing scheme to promote green development.
Employment opportunities through charging stations
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that to promote electric vehicles in the country, the government will give new opportunities to set up new EV charging stations to increase the infrastructure of charging stations for electric vehicles, in which apart from the existing vendors, new people will also get the opportunity. . He said that the contribution of youth will be important in the development of infrastructure for charging stations of electric vehicles. He said that this will provide ample opportunities for employment to the youth in the EV charging sector. They will also be given training for this.
Participation of EV buses will increase in public transport
While presenting the budget in Parliament, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stressed on increasing the participation of electric vehicles in public transport and talked about including electric buses in large numbers. He said that electric buses will be included in large numbers in the means of public transport in a phased manner. The effect of this step of the government will prove to be to make the environment healthy in the country and reduce the dependence on petrol and diesel in the country.
Use of electric vehicles will increase in private sector
Apart from the use of electric vehicles in public transport, the government is trying to promote the use of electric vehicles in the private sector, in which very attractive deals can be given on vehicles like cars, bikes, scooters with higher subsidies in the future. If the government is successful in promoting the use of electric vehicles in the private sector, then there will be a huge reduction in the expenditure on petrol and diesel in the country and the foreign exchange reserves of the government will also increase.
