The bid name for the auction is ‘Twitter Rebranding: Online Auction Including Memorabilia, Art, Office Properties and More!’ The auction, reports the BBC, will begin on September 12 and is planned to end two days later. The minimum bid for each item is $25, according to auction house Heritage Global Partners.
Coffee tables, large bird cages and portraits of viral photographs are among the 584 items put up for auction. Other listed items include plenty of desks and chairs, a DJ booth, and musical instruments. The report states that one of the listed Twitter signs is still affixed to the company’s headquarters on 10th Street in San Francisco. The listing noted, “The bird is still perched on the side of the building. Buyer is responsible for hiring an SF licensed company with the proper permits.” Also up for auction are two oil paintings that went viral. The report states, “The first is Ellen DeGeneres’ star-studded selfie taken at the 2014 Academy Awards.
The second picture is of a picture posted by former US President Barack Obama after his re-election in November 2012. It was the most liked tweet on the platform at the time. Earlier in January this year, the Musk-owned company put up for online auction hundreds of items from its San Francisco headquarters, including the bird statue and other assets.
