Los Angeles: Emmy Award-winning actor Robert Blake passed away on Thursday. He was 89 years old. Robert Blake saw a lot of ups and downs in his career. Blake, who received critical acclaim for his performance, was tried for his wife’s murder, though he was later acquitted of the case. Blake’s wife, Bonnie Lee Buckley, was shot and killed outside a Studio City restaurant on May 4, 2001.
After being implicated in the murder of his wife, he tried hard to return to the acting world, but he could not get that success back. Blake acted as a youngster in the comedy ‘R Gang’ and also in the film ‘Treasure of the Sierra Madre’. As an adult, she received critical acclaim for her role in ‘In Cold Blood’.
He received an Emmy Award in 1975 for playing the role of Tony Beretta in the series ‘Baretta’. He was also awarded an Emmy Award in 1993 for his role in ‘Judgment Day: The John List Story’. Blake was born on September 18, 1933, in Nutley, New Jersey.
