How was the experience being a part of ‘City of Dreams 3’ once again?

But I was sure that our director is the writer. He is a brilliant writer who knows what to do. A good director is one who gets the artist to do a great job. People praise the artist only because the director is not visible on the camera. But when the project is successful, the success of the director is reflected.
How has the friendship with the co-stars grown after doing three long seasons?
I would not call it friendship, I would call it rapo. Friendship is a big word. Friendship is not lost, it is played. The rappo of all our team was excellent. Was very friendly. But when the acting part is over, we meet straight away for promotions and screenings. We do not meet again after this work is over. That’s why I don’t call it friendship. Yes, we do become sociable and work becomes easier. That’s why I call it rapo. Most of the people I have worked with have had a good experience.
How much interaction is there between the cast and what is the atmosphere like on the sets?
Many times people get on the phone but some people do not talk on the phone, but still do not discuss with each other. You cannot blame the phone itself for this. This is human nature. I also have a phone and a vanity van. But I never use them while shooting on the sets. Once I come on the set, I never get busy on the phone nor do I go to the vanity van again and again. I always put my phone on silent. Now there are many facilities on the sets. Whereas in our era, there is no AC even on the sets. So this is my thinking that I prefer to be with the director and in the character.

Yes, it is good to see this. Apart from reels, mimes are also made a lot. Sometimes these memes are also very naughty. It is good to see if memes are made without hurting anyone.
Is it true when Supriya ji used to think that you were married? How did you clear the misunderstanding and then they became co-star partners?
Supriya does not know from where it seemed that I am married. In fact, before I got married myself, I was married several times in films. From ‘Balika Vadhu’, ‘Trishul’ to ‘Nadiya Ke Paar’, I have been married many times in my reel life. Perhaps seeing all this, he started feeling that I am married. My wife Supriya is very innocent. When I proposed for marriage, the first thing he asked was that you are not married, are you? Just then did I tell him the truth and he said yes. Then we got married and he gave me a lovely daughter Shriya. All three of us are working in the industry today. I feel good when I hear praise for my daughter as well.
How did you cast your daughter in your film?
I had seen daughter Shriya’s play. Me and Supriya did not know at all that the daughter was interested in acting. It was shocking for both of us when Shriya asked us to become actors. I immediately said yes but his mother had some problems. Then the daughter asked, you are also an actress, then why are you refusing me. Then Supriya’s reaction was that my point is different. I have a husband with me who takes care of me and manages everything. As an actor, you have to face some good things and some bad ones. There are two sides to the industry, one is success and the other is failure. She did not want the daughter to face some failure or humiliation. She just didn’t want her daughter to go through this pain. Thank God that the daughter did not have to face anything like this.
How did it feel to win the National Award at the age of 6?
4-5 year old Sachin Pilgaonkar received the National Award from the hands of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. That’s why uncle Nehru took out a red rose and planted it in his achkan. Remembering this moment, Sachin Pilgaonkar told that when I got the award, I was not even 6 years old. When I got the National Award, I didn’t know who those people were, but I definitely knew that these people are such big people.
The story when you were signed by the production house despite not having a story?
Yes, this is true. This story is related to Rajshri production. Rajkumar Barjatya Saheb whom we call Raj Babu. He had seen my work. He wanted to work with me. During that time Amitabh Bachchan’s younger brother Ajitabh Bachchan had a wedding reception in a hotel. I had worked with him in ‘Sholay’ so I also went to that party. Raj Babu had come there. I met him there. He then told that he wanted to make a film with me on friendship. Till then he did not have the story of the film. He signed me in a few days. Then later that film was made whose name was ‘Geet Gaata Chal’.
