Earlier on Thursday, silver had closed at the level of 71,580 kg.

Silver prices rose by Rs 391 to Rs 72,178 per kg in futures trade on Thursday as traders increased the size of their deals amid strong spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the price of silver contract for delivery in December rose by Rs 391, or 0.54 percent, to Rs 72,178 per kg.
18,524 lots were traded in this. Market analysts said the rise in silver futures prices was mainly due to buying of fresh deals by traders due to bullish trend in the domestic market. Globally, silver price in New York rose by 0.84 percent to $ 23.20 an ounce.
