HSBC India has launched this program to upgrade technology to green hydrogen to make it more efficient, cost-effective and capable of large-scale production. It has been launched in partnership with Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation.
New Delhi. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Thursday that the government intends to make India a global hub for production, use and export of green hydrogen. Addressing HSBC India’s Green Hydrogen Promotion Program, Sitharaman said the government is focused on achieving green growth on the back of comprehensive reforms in the green sector. He said that this initiative will create a blueprint for reducing the carbon intensity of the economy and creating green job opportunities.
According to a release, the Finance Minister said, “Green hydrogen has an important role to play in the midst of climate change. We have to work towards a low carbon and self-reliant economy. We intend to make India a global hub for the production, use and export of green hydrogen.” The program has started. It has been launched in partnership with Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation.
