Vande Sadharan: After Vande Bharat, now Railways is soon going to bring Vande Ordinary train for the common people. These trains have been designed to meet the needs of the common man with standard fares. However, the operation of this train has not been officially announced.
Production of non-AC Vande Ordinary train has started at ICF Chennai. Its estimated cost is Rs 65 crore. The first rake is expected to arrive by the end of this year. In contrast, the fully AC Vande Bharat train with seating arrangement is being manufactured at ICF at a cost of around Rs 100 crore. Indian Railways is making vigorous preparations for this.
To give high speed to Vande Sadharan train, two locomotive engines and 24 LHB coaches will be installed at both the front and rear ends. By using the push-pull method with two locomotives, the speed of the train will be increased, thereby significantly reducing the travel time.
Modern facilities like passenger bio-vacuum toilet, passenger information system and charging points on every seat are to be provided in Vande Sadharan train. To strengthen passenger security, CCTV cameras will be installed in every coach. Additionally, the train will also have an automatic door system like the Vande Bharat Express.
Vande Bharat Express is created by the Government of India. It is India’s first indigenous energy harvesting train and was inaugurated on 15 February 2019 at New Delhi Railway Station. This train runs between New Delhi and Varanasi.
Railways is also preparing to run the sleeper version of Vande Bharat soon. Apart from this, work on Vande Metro is also going on at a fast pace. Recently, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has shared the concept photo of sleeper version train of Vande Bharat. It is expected that it can be launched for the people by March next year. However, no official announcement has been made regarding this yet. There will be about 16 coaches in Vande Bharat sleeper train. There will be 11 AC 3 tier, 4 AC 2 tier and 1 coach of 1st AC.
