The world’s largest rail route is in Russia. It connects the country’s capital Moscow with the eastern city of Vladivostok. It takes seven days to complete the journey on this 9,259 km long route. If India’s Vande Bharat is run at full speed of 160 kmph, it will take about 58 hours to travel on this route. Similarly, a bullet train running at a speed of 400 km will also take about a day to complete this journey.
Toronto to Vancouver
The second longest rail route in the world is in Canada. It connects to Vancouver to Toronto. The length of this route is 4,466 km. Officially, the journey takes four days to complete. From this train, there are spectacular views of nature. The minimum fare for the train running on this route is $529. Canada is the second largest country in the world by area after Russia. Bullet train will take more than 11 hours on this route whereas Vande Bharat can cover this journey in a day at full speed.
Shanghai to Lhasa
The world’s third largest rail route is in China. It connects Shanghai to Lhasa in Tibet. Its length is 4,373 km. Train no running on this route. The Z164 train takes 46 hours 44 minutes i.e. around two days to complete the journey. It leaves Shanghai Railway Station daily at 08.02 PM and reaches Lhasa two days later at 06.46 PM. On this route also the bullet will take half a day.
Sydney to Perth
Australia’s rail route is at number four in this list. This route connecting Sydney to Perth is 4,352 km long. The Indian Pacific train runs on this route which completes the journey in four days. It runs from the coast of the Indian Ocean and reaches the coast of the Pacific Ocean. During this journey, you see many miracles of nature. In this journey, it passes through the longest straight stretch in the world. This 478 km long stretch is in South Australia called The Nullarbor. Vande Bharat will take a full day to complete the journey at full speed.
Dibrugarh to Kanyakumari
India’s longest rail line connects Dibrugarh in Assam to Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. It is the fifth longest rail route in the world. Its length is 4,237 km. Vivek Express running on this route takes 72 hours to complete its journey. If Vande Bharat Express is run on this route, it will take more than 26 hours to cover this distance. A bullet train running at 400 speed will take more than 10 hours to cover this distance.
