40 lakh smartphones will be given to women
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot addressed the people present there after visiting the inflation relief camp in Rawatsar town of Hanumangarh and said that in the Chiranjeevi Yojana we have made all women the head (of the family). 1.35 crore women have become the head of the household. He said that these women will be given smartphones with free internet for three years by the government. We have decided that on Raksha Bandhan, 40 lakh smartphones will be given simultaneously to women in Rajasthan. Let us tell you that this year Raksha Bandhan is on 30 August.
What in the budget announcement of 2022
It may be noted that according to the budget announcement of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for the year 2022, under the Mukhyamantri Digital Seva Yojana, the women heads of Chiranjeevi families are to be given smart phones with internet access for three years. Under this, smartphones will be given to all about 1.35 crore women of the Chiranjeevi family, however, due to not getting so many phones together, this scheme is not being implemented.
Free smart phone to female head of Chiranjeevi families
In February this year, the government had said in a reply in the assembly that budget provision has been made by the state government under the scheme of giving free smartphones to women heads of Chiranjeevi families. A provision of Rs 1,200 crore was made for this scheme. Later, a provision of Rs 3,500 crore was made in the supplementary demand and at present a provision of Rs 2,600 crore has been made.
If we look at the government statistics, till January 30, 2023, one crore 37 lakh 82,951 families are registered in Chiranjeevi Yojana in Rajasthan.
