New Delhi. Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd on Thursday said it has received approval from the US health regulator for generic tacrolimus ointment. It is used for the treatment of moderate to severe atopic dermatitis. The US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) has granted approval for Tacrolimus Ointment 0.03 percent, the generic version of Protopic Ointment, to Leo Pharma AS, according to a statement issued by the company. Glenmark’s Tacrolimus Ointment 0.03 percent will be distributed in the US by Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Inc (USA).
