san francisco (Uttam Hindu News): Global data management solution provider Veeam Software has reportedly laid off 300 employees.
The workforce reduction comes after Veeam laid off 200 employees in a separate round of layoffs last year.
In a post on LinkedIn, the senior campaign account manager said that about 300 of my colleagues were laid off as part of an organizational restructure.
The company acknowledged the layoffs, without confirming the number of employees affected.
Matthew Bishop, chief operating officer of Veeam, said in the statement, “We can’t disclose confidential business plans, but we can share that we are increasing hiring in some areas, moving some roles to new teams And retiring others.”
“Our focus today is to provide the best support to Veeam employees affected by the change and help them navigate career opportunities,” Bishop said.
Veeam has more than 450,000 customers. It was acquired by software investors Insight Partners in 2020 for $5 billion.
The company also protects customers from ransomware and other cyber threats.
In 2022, Indian-origin Anand Easwaran was appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and member of the board of directors of Veeam.
That same year, Veeam acquired Kasten, the market leader for Kubernetes backup and disaster recovery, for $150 million in a cash and stock deal.
“2023 was Veeam’s best year ever in terms of market share, now No. 1 in the global market,” the company said in a statement.
