Goa government files police complaint against Uber, alleges illegal operations

Panaji. The Goa government has filed a police complaint against Uber India Systems Pvt Ltd, accusing it of operating its services illegally in the state. Uber last week announced its services in Goa, which include airport pick-up and drop-off services. State Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho told reporters on Tuesday that his department has filed a formal complaint against Uber for operating in the state without permission.
He said his department has asked the police to take action against the app-based taxi aggregator. “We sent an email to the cyber crime (cell) last week and on Monday we gave a formal letter to the cyber crime cell,” Godinho said.
